Hand Block Printed 'Jamdani' Saree - Havala.
Saree: Ambara charaka handspun and handwoven 56 counts cotton saree having an accentuated pallu with a needlework-on-the-loom motif also known as 'Jamdani', an extra weft weaving technique of West Bengal. The design of the motif has references from Topor and Mukut, a traditional ornamental head accessory for the Bengali groom and bride crafted from 'shola'. This saree is hand-woven in the Nadia district of West Bengal in collaboration with the brand 'Manas Ghorai'. (Scroll down for more images)
Hand block printing: The hand block printing process involves azo-free dyes on the saree. The geometrical design selected for printing exuberates the essence of grill-works of yesteryear art-deco architecture. Hand block printed in Bengaluru.

Colour: The inspiration for the colour comes from coral (Havala in Kannada), one of the nine gemstones in "Navaratna" hence, peachish pink on a base of egg-shell white. The colours seen in the image may vary marginally from the actual product due to different screen resolutions.
Wash care: Hand wash in cold water separately with no/mild detergent and dry it under the shade or eco-dry clean.
